This work shows the performance of slot-died printed devices processed by different solvents and additive, and points to the effect of three solvent properties (solvent effect on molecular crystallization, boiling point, and interaction parameters) on the film crystallization and phase separation.
We employed amine-capped aniline trimer as one of the building block to construct novel Schiff-base-containing conductive polymer coatings through dialdehyde-amine polycondensation, reducing the band gap and improving the electrical conductivity of the structure was both beneficial to the reduction of infrared emissivity. The infrared emissivity of ATTPAL coatings was 0.587 at wavelength of 8-14 μm and 0.595 at wavelength of 2-22 μm.
A novel kind of polyurea-urethane thermoset was reported with borate ester as its crosslinking point to enable controllable de-crosslinking. Such a thermoset presents remarkable mechanical properties and outstanding solvent resistance capability, due to its high crosslinking density. The de-crosslinked product can be reporcessed to generate a new thermoplastic material.
In this article, poly(acrylic acid) hydrogels cross-linked by liquid metal with self-adaptive networks are fabricated. Liquid metal can act as dynamic cross-linking points. By stretching, one LM droplet may change its shape or break into more and smaller droplets to form new crosslinking points, thus the hydrogel networks are self-adapted and enhanced.
In this work, hydrogels derived from xylan hemicellulose were synthesized. Xylan was extracted from eucalyptus Kraft pulp and chemically modified to generate hydrogels with sulfonic or sulfonates groups with the capacity to adsorb polluting ions, such as Cd(II), Cu(II), and Pb(II) from aqueous solutions.
A novel polymeric nanocomplex with anti-tumour and antibacterial dual-functions was synthesized to treat Fusobacterium nucleatum (Fn)-infected colorectal cancer. This novel nanocomplex effectively reverses Fn-induced drug resistance, providing a powerful strategy for the treatment of bacterial related cancers.
Based on the disordered miscible block copolymer P4VP-b-P4HBA, we constructed the ordered microphase separation structure via blending with amphiphilic surfactants. Through the noncovalent interaction between P4VP and different amphiphilic molecules. ordered microstructures were obtained, giving rise to a new perspective for the fabrication of hierarchical nanostructures and nanomaterials from miscible block copolymers.
The chain-walking (co)polymerization of ethylene, 1-pentene and 2-pentene was carried out using α-diimine Ni(II) catalysts in combination with Et2AlCl, leading to the formation of branched polyolefins with various types of branches and microstructural units. This catalyst system can efficiently obtain highly branched amorphous polyethylene with alkyl chains including Me, Et, n-Pr, n-Bu, sec-Bu branches and longer chains. Compared with the 1-pentene polymerization, this catalyst system successfully conducted polymerization of 2-pentene to give highly branched polymers of approximately 195 branches/1000C possessing Me, Et, and n-Pr branches and a long methylene sequence.
Eucommia ulmoides gum (EUG) was modified by triazolinedione, and the modified EUG exhibited the obviously enhanced damping properties with a wide effective damping temperature range, large loss factor, and high damping coefficient, attributed to the introduced polar and branched pendants, and the microphase separation morphology to dissipate vibrational mechanical energy.
An indirect strategy to characterize the heterogeneity of non-destructive epoxy resins by replacing the conventional covalent bonds with dynamic covalent bonds. Kohlrausch-Williams-Watts (KWW) stretched exponential function is used to reveal the influence of stoichiometric ratio on heterogeneity.
The introduction of FDO destroyed the hydrogen bond between hard segment and contributed to the formation of loose packed hard domain which can be utilized as internal plasticizer.
Biaxially oriented PE/UHMWPE pipes were fabricated. During die drawing, long UHMWPE chains were sufficiently stretched, acting as shish structure and inducing short PE chains to form kebab crystals. The lamellae remarkably deviated from hoop to axial direction, presenting dense biaxial orientation structure, causing significantly enhanced hoop strength and burst pressure.
Blending the flexible system BPADA/PDA and the rigid system BPDA/PDA at prepolymer stage. The flexible system ensured the melt processing performance, while the rigid system inhibited the movement of molecular chains and reduce the free volume fraction, thereby reducing the CTE value.
The in situ nanofibrils structure was introduced into the PLLA/HPDLA composite fibers. The abundant in-situ nanofibrils simultaneously improved the heat and hydrolysis resistance of the composite fibers. Under the action of extensional stress, the in situ nanofibrils further induced the nucleation and crystallization of PLLA molecular chains to form a hybrid shish-kebab structure, which played a significant mechanical self-reinforcing effect.
Using a modified coarse-grained polarizable model, we demonstrate that the electric field effect originates from the energy changes of intramolecular polarization, intermolecular van der Waals and Coulomb interactions induced by the external electric field. A method is proposed to predict the phase separation temperature under electric field.
In this study, three kinds of PPS-Al, PPS-Cu and PPS-Fe interfacial models with pyramidal nano-slots were modeled. The multiple-anchor-point slipping phenomenon was in nano-injection molding revealed. And the molecular kinematic mechanisms of polymer-metal interface interactive were studied.
