The specific ion effects on the enzymatic degradation of the polyester films are closely related to the ion-specific enzymatic hydrolysis of the ester bonds.
A mini-review summarizes the recent advances in fabricating functional cellulose derivatives and regenerated biomass materials via using ionic liquids as the green medium, indicating new ideas for the efficient utilization of renewable natural bioresources.
Janus nanofillers of various morphologies, including spherical, snowman-like, and two-dimensional nanosheets, as the interfacial compatibilizers of polymer blends, and their impacts on phase morphologies, mechanical properties, and functionalities of blends have been overviewed. It could provide a guidance for designing effective Janus particle compatibilizer to develop high-performance and multifunctional blends.
It is inappropriate to treat the unknotting constraint free energy of the ring chains in the melts as the free energy contributed by the excluded volume interactions of polymers in a good solvent. And the intrachain constraints have little influence on the scaling relationship between self-diffusion coefficient and chain length.
We design a near-infrared (NIR) light- and acidity-activated micellar nanoparticle (iPUTDN) for mitochondrial-targeted doxorubicin (DOX) delivery to combat DOX resistance in small-cell lung cancer. NIR irradiation at the tumor region can peel off the PEG shell from the PEGylated iPUTDN nanoparticles to expose iRGD for deep tumor penetration and subsequently release the triphenylphosphonium(TPP)-conjugated DOX (TDOX) for reduction of both the mitochondrial membrane potential and the content of ATP.
PLG-g-mPEG was synthesized to co-loaded GA and IR783 to obtain GI@P NPs to perform photoacoustic imaging guided combined chemo/photothermal antitumor therapy. In GI@P NPs, GA inhibited HSP90 expression to overcome the thermotolerance of tumors to endow IR783 achieve mild-temperature photothermal therapy and reducing thermal damage to healthy tissue.
Double-layer mechanofluorochromic hydrogels are fabricated by the facile integration of two different-colored fluorescent hydrogel films via interfacial hydrogen bonding. Force-triggered response of overlapping color is realized due to the strain-dependent UV transmittance change of top layer. With the patterning capability of bottom layer, the materials demonstrate great potential for smart display.
In this work, a simple building block (POBT) based on bithiophene was designed and synthesized, which could be regarded as tailoring from the fused-ring CPT unit. Two novel NFREAs based on CPT and POBT were developed, and PBDB-T:TT-POBT based PSC devices showed a much better PCE than the TT-CPT counterpart.
A type of hyperbranched polyacetal quaternary ammonium was fabricated by a succession of efficient click strategies, exhibiting inherent antibacterial speciality and bacterial-responsive curcumin release to facilitate the antibacterial activity.
This work indicates that the structure of alkyl side chains of OPV segments plays an important role in determining the crystallization-driven self-assembled behaviors of OPV-based block copolymers. It is the steric repulsion effect induced by branched alkyl side chains, not stereoregular effect, that would promote self-nucleation in crystallization-driven micellar elongation.
A novel type of supramolecular polymers has been constructed on the basis of propeller-shaped triphenylamine cyanostilbenes. The resulting supramolecular polymers exhibit severe emission quenching upon addition of 2,6-dinitrotoluene, ascribed to photoinduced electron transfer from the triphenylamine cyanostilbenes to the explosive analyte.
The Prussian blue engineered cellulose acetate nanofiltration membrane was prepared via a thin film composite strategy. The defect-free FeCo-PB selective layer shows good separation performances for dye molecules and excellent photocatalytic degradation of organic foulants.
