A novel platform was established for prevention against the SARS-CoV-2 by utilizing a customized cell line. The pseudotyped SARS-CoV-2 was efficienly captured by the overexpressed ACE2 on the cell membrane. The subsequent viral replication and transcription processes could be blocked by the intracellular shRNAs designed as comlement to the viral genome fragments.
Temperature-strain dual sensitive hydrogels, with excellent stretchability, recoverability and self-healing properties were prepared and characterized. The addition of characteristic monomers, N-isopropyl acrylamide (NIPAM), endows the hydrogels with good temperature responsiveness, which are more suitable for wearable multifunctional sensing devices than single-function hydrogels.
The toxicity of hyperbranched poly(lysine) (HPL) was engineered by copolymerizing lysine with hydrophobic amino acids such as alanine, tryptophan, or phenylalanine to obtain hyperbranched random copolymers. These copolymers have comparable antibacterial activities to HPL while their cytotoxicities and in vivo toxicities are lowered.
The present research sheds light on future ligand designing for late-transition metal promoted NB polymerizations if soluble PNB products. The linear mainchain structure as well as the decreased stereoselectivities of PNB, due to the incorporation of salicylaldiminate ligands to the active species, contributed most to the well-improved solubilities.
We demonstrated a simple and efficient method to construct the poly(ethylenimine) (PEI)/poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) coating by in-situ photopolymerization of acrylic acid in the PEI network. The coating kept higher stability and porous structures could be constructed after acid treatment, which was utilized to load lubricant to enhance the lubricating property.
In this study, PBST and PLLA were melt blended, and ADR was added to improve the compatibility of the blends. As the formation of PLLA-g-PBST copolymer improves the interfacial bonding of the blends, biodegradable materials with excellent mechanical properties at both room temperature and low temperature are prepared.
In this work, a diselenium-bonded cross-linked polymeric nanogel with redox and NIR light responsiveness was designed and synthesized, which could release the loaded guest molecules under oxidative environment and NIR light stimulation. The polymeric nanogel has great potential applications in the field of controlled release.
The hydrogen bonds interaction between Poly (vinyl pyrrolidone) and PA66 is highlighted for the effective regulation of crystallization behaviour of PA66. Tc and crystallization rate are decreased by PVP, with the lattice and χc remain unchanged. Thus, the processability is improved without sacrificing mechanical properties.
We create a thermo/optical drive type flexible track wireless controlled actuator that can realize multiple energy conversion on large slopes and alternate front drive and rear drive. Complex actuators with multiple joints can be constructed by structural design, which has normous potential in multi-scene driven mode and intelligent energy-harvesting system.
A series of polyethylene glycol grafted polybutene-1 copolymers with the elevated crystallization temperature and the rapid phase transition were designed and synthesized. The kinetics of phase transition presents a non-monotonic trend with increasing branch density and branch length.
Predict the mechanical properties of polyurethane elastomers and construct a benchmark dataset with conserved chemical structure-composition-processing-mechanical properties relationship.
Dynamic Monte Carlo simulations were used to investigate stereocomplex crystallization in cyclic polymer systems. The cyclic polymer blend exhibits weakest stereocomplexation ability, while the cyclic block copolymers have stronger stereocomplexation ability than the linear diblock copolymer due to the synergy between the ring chain topology and the block copolymer structure.
Macromolecular coils in the externally influenced cryogels are transferred from the stress state to the equilibrium state to acquire the shape of a ball over time. Then the relaxation time is the characteristic time for the system to return to the equilibrium state.
The typical conformations of a circular semiflexible polyelectrolyte in the presence of trivalent counterions are studied using the molecular dynamics simulation package LAMMPS. By changing the bending energy b and charged density A, The circular semiflexible polyelectrolyte can form several different typical conformations, such as oblated ring, rod, toroid and globule.
We observe a super-diffusion behavior and no apparent chain-length-dependent mobility of polymer chains on nanotubular membranes, which suggests that the additional out-of-plane fluctuations of flexible surfaces could influence the dynamics of adsorbed polymer chains.
The mechanical response of polyethylene nano-fibers with the same chain length but different chain numbers are studied by using steered molecular dynamics simulations. The shrinking or stretching forces acted on the chain ends are investigated according to the chain-end distance and temperature under isothermal or continuous warming-cooling conditions, respectively.
