Hybrid cryogels composed of PAAm-g-PANI embedded with AuNPs enjoy the synergetic contributions to both photothermal transpiration and photo-catalyst from PANI and AuNPs, to facilitate the photocatalytic degradation of dye pollutant prompted by photothermal transpiration.
We developed an intestine enzyme-responsive hydrogel to co-deliver anticancer drug (hydrophobic imatinib) and permeation enhancer (sodium deoxycholate) with long-term controlled release and enhanced intestinal permeability through oral administration (6-fold enhancement of in vivo anticancer effects compared to free imatinib mesylate). This intestine enzyme-responsive hydrogel has great potentials for cancer treatment.
We have proposed a universal strategy to design the novel inorganic/organic hybrid Janus nanotubes with tunable inner pore size based on the hexagonally-packed mesoporous block copolymer template.
ROP of a bicyclic lactone, 2-oxabicyclo[2.2.2]octan-3-one ([2.2.2]VL), was systematically investigated under different conditions to obtain a series of P[2.2.2]VLs with variable stereochemistry. The cis to trans isomerization mechanism under strong basic conditions was elucidated together with the effect of stereochemistry on the polymer properties.
High solid content (52%) CO2-based cationic waterborne polyurethane (CO2-CWPUs) is prepared using CO2 as raw material. Compared with polybutylene adipate glycol based cationic waterborne polyurethane (PBA-CWPU), CO2-CWPU shows outstanding water/hydrolysis/oxidation ageing resistances, due to its synergistic effect from carbonate and ether groups of main chain structure.
Random and block copolymers of 2-methoxyethyl vinyl ether (MOVE) and 2-ethoxyethyl vinyl ether (EOVE) was successfully synthesized within only 180 s in microflow system. Both copolymers showed smart responses towards temperature change with random copolymer behave in a more sensitive way.
Superior ductile, high-barrier and transparent poly(lactic acid) films were fabricated by biaxial stretching and constrained annealing, where the oriented nano-sized crystals could not only serve as “nano-barrier wall” to impede the penetration of gas molecules, but also strengthen amorphous chain entanglement network as physical crosslink to enhance ductility.
A pilot electrochromic cell with a configuration of ITO/PVB electrolyte/WO3/ITO was prepared via the laminating of PVB solid electrolyte film between ITO and ITO/WO3 substrates, at 100 °C using heat gun and pressing them with clamps. The WO3 thin film was firstly deposited on ITO glasses by sol-gel technique via spin-coating method.
The hydrogen bonding interfacial interaction between PCL and PLA nanofibers modified by sodium hydroxide provides the driving force for the formation of the PLA/PCL heterogeneous shish-kebab structure. The heterogeneous structure provides a way to combine two poorly compatible polyester polymers.
A hydrophilic interlayer composed of imogolite nanotubes (INTs) and polydopamine (PDA) can effectively alleviate the internal concentration polarization (ICP) effect and improve the performance of thin film nanocomposite (TFN) forward osmosis (FO) membrane.
The novel biodegradable thermochromic PLA fibers were created using a cost-effective melt-spinning technique. The TPLA fibers exhibit excellent mechanical performances with a tenacity high up to 3.7~4.7 cN/dtex. Moreover, the TPLA fibers present sensitive, reversible and stable thermochromic behavior, converting from green (<31 °C) to colorless (≥31 °C).
In this paper, we report a modified SSA thermal fractionation approach by adding a small fraction of linear polyethylene in an ethylene/1-octene copolymer that showed better fractionation result due to heterogeneous nucleation of linear polyethylene for all fractions.
An apigenin-derived epoxy monomer (DGEA) was synthesized. The cured DGEA thermoset showed an ultrahigh Tg of 232 °C and exceptional antiflammability with a UL-94 V-0 grade, whereas the cured petroleum-based diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) thermoset behaved high flammability and a relatively low Tg (156 °C).
Addition of thermoplastic starch to binary PLA/PBAT blends was studied. The compounds were obtained by reactive extrusion and reprocessed by cast extrusion and thermoforming to obtain products suitable for the storage of hot food. PLA/PBAT/TPS blends proved to be very effective, also presenting a high disintegration rate in ambient conditions.
Based on the coordination affinity of nitrogen to palladium, the palladium-assisted metal patterning on polyimide films was achieved by the electroless plating. The Cu patterns on the films have a minimum line width of 50 µm, minimum line spacing of 20 µm, and low resistivity of 1.78 µΩ·cm.
Using a combination of rheology, proton multiple-quantum NMR and fast-field-cycling (FFC) NMR techniques, we elucidate the interplay of crosslinking structures and hierarchical segmental dynamics in the solid-liquid elastomers with variable content of dynamic boron-oxygen dative bonds, enabling the establishment of structure-dynamics-property relationship.
The introduction of a hydrophilic/hydrophobic additive into the mesoporous structure of the host matrix via crazing makes it possible to control the polymer wettability.
